Are You Too Doing These Annoying Things With Your Dog?

Irrespective of the love we are giving to our pets, we as humans do things at times that can annoy the heck out of them. Though almost done unintentionally always, these things can, however, be annoying and detrimental at times.

Whether it is your ESA or any other dog, initially they don’t grasp some of the canine behaviors that might annoy us, including jumping on to strangers or sniffing at a person in a private place, we too make mistakes that annoy, worry or anger our dogs.

The following human habits are common violations in the case of canine customs. And you might be a part of some of these. So, if you are thinking of or have already applied for your emotional support animal letter for your dog, first read on these things to check your rapport with dogs.

Hugs

A regular hug from you can be pleasing for your dog as well. But dogs generally get annoyed by tight hugs, especially from children and strangers. And unlike primates, canines don’t have a history of grasping each other for showing affection. Rather, if a dog puts its paws on any other dog, it means that he is attempting to control or dominate. So, till the time your dog enjoys being hugged eagerly, tell your family members to avoid doing so.

Teasing

Generally, children like teasing a dog the most. Pulling their ears or tail, barking at them behind the fence, or even wrestling or chasing an unwilling dog are some of the annoying things which can make dogs feel irritated, shy, or even aggressive. Playing with the dog’s dish while eating or keeping the toy away from him are also annoying acts for your dog. So make sure to avoid doing any out of these.

Staring

Stares are often translated as challenges by dogs. So, the last thing you should do to your dog is to stare at him for long. Ask other people to stare at your dog for a while and then see what happens. He’ll react exactly the same way he does on spotting a squirrel, which is not at all a friendly affair.

Interrupted Sleep

Dude, I was dreaming. Even the nicest dogs hate if they are interrupted while sleeping. Older dogs, who tend to have a deeper sleep or the ones whose hearing is impaired can get scared due to the sudden presence of someone approaching them or touching them and waking them up. So, let your dog wake up naturally and not disturbingly. And if there is an urgent need of waking them, do that gently and quietly.

Tight Leash

A loose-leash walk should be your aim as it shows that the dog is focused and pays attention to what you are saying. However, some dogs tend to drag you down the street as the leash gets stretched tight behind them. This shows that the dog doesn’t pay attention but also has tension around his collar or harness. This can also lead to certain health problems. Try to keep the leash as loose as possible and if your dog loses focus during walking, walk about-face with them.
